29th of September. Welcome at your arrival at the Ulaanbaatar airport. Transfer to your hotel (Standard category). City tour. Visit of Bogd Khaan summer palace. Lunch in a restaurant of the city. Visit of the Natural history museum. Briefing on the trip. Overnight at the hotel.
30th of September. Drive to Terelj National Park. Visit of the Turtle Rock. Lunch in Nomad family learning Mongolian traditional culture. We will tast the airag, national fermented mare milk. Free diner and night in Hotel.
1st of October. Transfer to the airport and flight towards the Mongolian farwest (4 hours). Welcome in Olgii by our local team. After lunch After lunch, start driving toawrds east about 120km (about 4hrs) and reach Aralbai's family. Meet Aralbai and his family. Aralbay will proudly how you his magnificient bird.
From 2nd to 5th of October. We will go to the Golden festival with a Khazakh falconer, Aralbai. Riding the mongolian small but tough horses, you go side by side with eaglehunter and hunt foxes, rabbits,wild cats and may be wolfes.So you have the unique chance to have part in this unique hunting's tradition of Altai Kazakh people. Ride on the mountains and enjoy remote mountain country. You can try to hold the golden eagle on your hand.
6th and 7th of October. Meet the Kazakh Eaglehunters. The rodeo of eaglehunting is a fantastic opportunity for photographers and adventurers alike to see these magnificent birds closely. There are approximatively 400 eaglehunters in Bayan-Ulgii aimag. Eaglehunters from around regions gather to test their finely trained birds in singular contests of speed and agility in these few days. During the festival we also see some Kazakh Traditional Horse Games like "BushKushi" (Try to take out from each other the goat skin on horseback), "Kiss woman on horseback", "Pick up coins from the land on horseback" and others. In the evening we enjoy to have the Kazakh Concert with some traditional songs and music.
8th and 9th of October. Departure by 4wd minivans (Forgons) 165 km along the north-west route towards Shiveet Hairkhan Uul, where is numerous petroglyphs and Turkic stone men bearing witness of the Bronze Age and the time of the Huns and Turks. Beautiful views of the entire Altai Mountains range when we drive by Tsagaan Gol (valley). After 165km (5-6hrs drive if not stopping) we will arrive at Shiveet Hairhan Mountain, in Altai Tavanbogd National Park, where numerous Tuvan nomads live. Shiveet Hairhan is holy for them, so there is no hunting, and usually possible to see a lot of Siberian Ibex in the early morning. Pitch camp.
10th of August. Transfer to the airport and flight back to Ulaanbaatar. Transfer to your hotel. Free diner and night at the Hotel.
11th of August. Breakfast. Visit of Gandantegchilen monastery and introduction to Buddhism in the Buddhist center of Mongolia. Lunch in local restaurant. Shopping in the afternoon. visit of the black market and cashmere factory. Farewell diner in on of the best restaurant of the capitale. Night at the hotel.
12th of August. Breakfast. Transfer to the airport. Departure.
