Terelj National Park, 55 Km only from Ulaanbaatar, is one of the most beautiful places to visit with high-eroded rock formations, pine covered mountains and grassland carpeted with perennial wildflowers and edelweiss. On foot and in autonomy - your materials being carted by horses or yacks - you will leave the beaten track and discover the best places of Terelj National Park and reach the Black Lake in the Khentii Strictly Protected Area!!

Program

Day 1. Welcome at your arrival at the Ulaanbaatar airport. Transfer to your hotel (Standard category). City tour. Visit of Gandantegchilen monastery and introduction to Buddhism in the Buddhist center of Mongolia. Lunch in a restaurant of the city. Visit of the Natural history museum. Briefing on the trip. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2. 9h30 - departure from Ulaanbaatar to Terelj National Park. Visit of the Turtle Rock. Meet with your Nomad family. Lunch under the ger and afternoon spent in the vecinity. Dinner and night in nomad family camp. 80 Km. 1h45

Day 3. Trekking departure. Today we will have a walk along the Terelj then in the valley of Baruunbayaniin. Put up our camp in Baruunbayan Sambartai Khoshuu the bank of the Baruunabayan River. Dinner and night under the tent. 27 Km.

Day 4. We continue following the Baruunbayan River. Visit of Gunjiin Monastery. Surrounded by magnificent forests, the temple was built in 1740 by Efu Dondovdorj to commemorate the death of his Manchurian wife, Amarlangui. Then we will go down to the Tsagaan Khyartiin Valley. Dinner and night under the tent. 25 Km.

Day 5. Walk along the Khonog Tolgoi Mountain. Sleep on the bank of the Khagiin River. Dinner and night under the tent. 20 Km.

Day 6. This day we continue our hike along the Khagiin River then along the Khongor River until we reach the Tsokhio Khad stone. Dinner and night under the tent. 21 Km.

Day 7. We continue our hike going up to the Khagiin Khar mountain and reach the black Lake - a 20 meter-deep glacial Lake located in stunnning environment surrounded by the Khaan Khetii Mountains. Dinner and night under the tent on the bank of the Lake. 18 Km.

Day 8. This day we will keep our camp and hike around the Lake to go and visit of the ruins of Saridagiin Temple. Dinner and night under the tent on the bank of the Lake. 14 Km.

Day  9. Today we will walk down the Baatar Tolgoi Mountain and reach the Khag River we will follow down. Dinner and night under the tent on the bank of Khag Khongor River. 25 Km. Easy

Day 10. Walking down along the Khag Khongor River before reaching the Tuul River where we will pitch our tents for the night. Dinner and night under the tent. 20 Km

Day 11. Pick up and drive to Ulaanbaatar and transfer to your hotel. Visit of Bogd Khan winter palace. Shopping. Overnight at the hotel. 200 Km

Day 12. Breakfast. Transfer to the airport. Departure.
