Day 1. Welcome at your arrival at the Ulaanbaatar airport. Transfer to your hotel (Standard category). City tour. Visit of Gandantegchilen monastery and introduction to Buddhism in the Buddhist center of Mongolia. Lunch in a restaurant of the city. Visit of the Natural history museum. Briefing on the trip. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2. 9h00 - departure from Ulaanbaatar to Amarbayasgalant Monastery. This monastery is the most relevant of Mongolia and was built during the 17th century in memory of the first lama, Bogd Zanabazar who headed the Mongolian Religion. Located in the North of the Selenge Province, this monastery lay in an exceptional natural setting. Overnight under the tent. 312 Km - 6 heures
Day 3. Visit of the Monastery then departure towards the Khuvsgul Lake (or Hovsgol). On the way, we will stop on the Mountains surrounding Bulgan City. Overnight under the tent. 200 Km - 6 hours
Day 4. Today we will drive throughout the wooded region of the North. Bivouac on the banks of the Selenge river near the Ikh Uul village. 197 km - 6 hours
Day 5. After a 6 hours drive we will arrive to the Khuvsgul Lake, one of the natural wonders of Mongolia: a 2760 square meters alpine Lake with so pure that you can drink it, surrounded by a dozen of Mountains towering above 2,000 meters and covered by pine forests and luxuriant meadow where yacks and horses are grazing peacefully. Dinner and night in gers camp of the bank of the Lake. 238 Km
Day 6. Trekking day throughout the surrounding Mountains. Stunning sight on the Lake. Dinner and night under the tent
Day 7. Visit of a Tsaatan family. It remains only few hundreds Tsaatans in Mongolia. These people still leave from reindeer's breeding and practice shamanism. Dinner and night in gers camp.
Day 8. Today we will drive toward Great White Lake, Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur. We will stop on the way near the village of Shine Ider. Night under the tent. 210 Km - 5 hours
Day 9. Drive to the Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake which is located at an altitude of 2060 meters. This lake is called the "great white lake". This lake as well as the volcanic areas which surround it is the highlight spot of the Arkhangai province. Still a wild area, this place is ideal to camp and, if you fancy it, to fish. 200 Km - 5 hours
Day 10. Trekking to the Horgo Volcano (15 Km). This extinct volcano at the est of the Lake is covered by Basalt. Night under the tent.
Day 11. Drive to Tsenkher hot springs for a very relaxing day. Enjoy a SPA in the spring water famous for its healing power and then experience the Mongolian massage. Dinner and night in gers camp. On the way we will pass through Tsetserleg, the capitale of the Province, and visit the Arkhangai museum located in the Zayan Gegeen temple. Stop to Taikhar chuluut. 136 Km - 3h30
Day 12. Drive to the Orkhon waterfalls located in the sumptuous Orkhon Valley. Stroll in the valley carpetted by Edelweiss. Overnight in Nomad family. 100 Km
Day 13. Day in our guest family. After milking the cow and the mare, we will go and visit the Tovkon monastery built in honour of Zanabazar and from which you will have a great sight on the Valley. When you will be back, the family would have prepared for you the Mongolian Barbecue. Overnight in Nomad family.
Day 14. Drive to the former capitale of Mongolia, Karakorum (kharkhorin). The fabled city of Chinggis Khaan was built in 1220 in the Orkhon Valley on the Silk Road. From this city the Mongolian Empire has been ruled until Kublai Khan move this capitale to Beijing. Lunch in local restaurant. Visit of the Erdene Zuu Monastery. Started to be built in 1586 but finished only 300 years later, the monastery has been the first Buddhism center in Mongolia. Night under the tent on the bank of the Orkhon River. 94 Km. 3h00
Day 15. Drive to the Khustain National Park where you will spot in their wild environment the Przewalski horses. Night under the tent. 260 Km. 5 hours
Day 16. Drive to Ulaanbaatar and transfer to your hotel. After lunch, visit of the Bogd Khaan winter palace. Shopping. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 17. Breakfast. Transfer to the airport. Departure.
